It's a question of nationality!

From the Irish vs Rugby Parma report; Rugby Times dated 4 November 2005.

".... The first half scoring came from a United Nations line-up of Exiles players, with Australian winger Scott Staniforth, Canadian back-rower Phil Murphy, Trinidadian-born Delon Armitage, Argentinian back-rower Juan Leguizamon and Irish back-rower Kieron Dawson scoring tries and New Zealand outside-half Riki Flutey adding three conversions.
An Englishman finally dotted down when fulback Michael Horak scored in the 42nd minute, with the promising Armitage getting his second moments later."

Why are journalists so lazy they must pad out London Irish match reports with the question of players origin?

Have London Welsh and London Scottish received the same treatment?

You can probably read it two ways. One is as a compliment of our multi-culturalism which is the way I'd like to read it, and the other is that they are having the usual pop at the 'Irish' for not providing enough English team members - yawn.

Wasn't it proved to be wrong about Delon anyway, didn't someone say he's French born or something? And another thing Flutey will be as English as Van Gisbergen in less than 3 years

I bet the journalist hasn't met Michael Horak to inspect his Englishness!!!

Or is this an example of irony?
