Reassurance needed

by gabriel on Sun Apr 02, 2017 9:10 pm

I wasn't in Jersey last weekend and a bad cold kept me from going to the Madjeski this weekend. The fact that we have now lost home and away to Jersey in the space of 8 days is rather disconcerting.

Am I permitted to take consolation in the fact that, unlike us, Jersey had an almost unchanged team. Or does that just mean that they can beat us whatever team we put out.

Apparently "no more distractions" will help Irish.

We've got two regular league games left now and there are no more distractions in terms of the Cup. We will be applying ourselves 100% in every area in preparation for this next block of games.

That isn't in the least bit reassuring.
At this stage the Mammy would be wearing out another set of rosary beads and have booked for Lough Derg.

A win by nearly 80 points is pretty reassuring but what is perhaps more reassuring than that is that neither Jersey nor Pirates will be in the playoffs. Interesting that the four teams in the playoffs all play each other on the last day of the regular season.

I agree the 80 points was nice. But against unenthusiastic opposition.

I'm looking forward to the excitement of the next few weeks, even though I suspect I'll have a few sleepless nights along the way.

When I went online to buy my tickets today I found my seats had already ben taken and it was difficult to get any seats anywhere near "Peters Patch". So for the first time ever I'm heading to upper West for the semi. I'm expecting a fantastic ride and overwhelming support. With a bit of luck the club will also make a decent amount of money from the semi- and, hopefully, the final.

I was wrong!

Season ticket holders' seats are available until the 19th. I managed to change mine back to my normal Peter's Patch. Phew.
