We all played probably to not lose rather than go out there with a positive attitude and compete with the ball. It ended up being a bit of a dire spectacle even though we had a 20-point lead at one stage. We're still not managing those big moments well enough. I think it was our own doing that put us under pressure in the closing moments. We got the win, but we still need to be much better than that.

I suspect we were all squirming in our seats ... good to win but at 20 points up I was hopeful Irish could cut loose and score a few more tries.

I was sure we were heading for a bonus point whitewash!
Newcastle really were not much good. We should have made mincemeat of them from the off. I had a bad feeling when I saw Topsy on the teamsheet. He is very good as long as running isn't involved. That's a slight problem for a full-back.

The Telegraph has a decent report.
The report quotes Dean Richards as saying: "London Irish didn't look like scoring (a try) other than on those two occasions and that was the disappointing thing." On this rare occasion, I agree with him.

The Independent see Shane as the hero.
"...this game was decided by a small player, albeit one with a giant skill set. Shane Geraghty."

We were squirming in our seats today as well, but for different reasons!

Move on, nothing to see here.
