Andy Goode retires

Pretty disappointing news that Goode hasn't shaken off some injuries that he must have had when he joined Irish:

Former England international Andy Goode has decided to retire from professional rugby after failing to recover from surgeries on injuries sustained prior to joining the Club.

Andy joined London Irish earlier this summer from Wasps with the intention of playing one more season in the Aviva Premiership and Europe. However, following consultations with the Club’s medical staff and his personal physician, Andy has reluctantly decided to call time on his playing career and will leave London Irish this week.

Bob Casey's take on it : http://www.london-irish.com/news/bob-ca ... ent/bp494/

Shame, but he was hardly one for the future.

They need to go out and find a replacement pretty quick.

I was under the impression that Geraghty and Noakes were injured, leaving just Theo Brophy-Clews and Christian Lewis-Pratt to start the season big pressure on young shoulders.
