Autumn Internationals

Is there any interest in an Autumn International tipping competition or does everyone have tipping fatigue? Speaking personally I would be interested in embarrassing myself again against my fellow competitors!

Tofutome? One thousand and one things to do with bean curd perhaps?
This cruel country has driven me down, teased me and lied.
I've only sad stories to tell to this town
My dreams have withered and died.

Can anyone explain what is the purpose of the autumn internationals? The Mammy asked the other day and I was completely flummoxed.

I would guess there must be a financial motive since there is no competition at stake. No doubt one of our resident historians can lay out the ground for us.

It might all come down to whether or not you can back Ireland to beat New Zealand and whether they can do it!
