Bath Away - transport warning

by waltham on Thu Nov 19, 2009 3:21 pm

Have just received this from Karen Gill, Ops Manager of Bath RFC:

"I attended a meeting today with our Council and the Police and this is what was discussed:

Saturday 28 November – This will be the first Saturday for the Bath Christmas Market and like past years this has been very busy traffic wise, so there will be Police Officers based at all entry points into the City from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm – once all car park areas are FULL a plan for transport restrictions into the City will be enforced. So, if supporters could use trains instead of cars that would be a great help to ease the situation.

Also, we have been asked to point out that the City appears to have been intermittently targeted by ‘handbag dippers’ particularly in the shopping areas. So we ask visitors to ensure they keep their valuables/bags safe, closed and protected at all times. This is aimed at men as well as pickpockets are prevalent in the area."

Looks like the LI Coach is the best option then...
